The Real Shop is not only the UK's Head office for BMG Designer Body Jewellery - We also offer a professional body piercing service, and sell a wide range of the best selling contemporary jewellery such as Hot Diamonds, Ti2 Titanium, Two Blue and many more.

We offer a super hygienic piercing service in the relaxed non-intimidating environment of our modern jewellery shop. We also design and make a wide range of body jewellery using gold, white gold and platinum. Most of the products displayed in our online shop can be used for your initial piercing, as they are 14-carat or 18-carat nickel free yellow or white gold. Alternatively a wide range of plain polished or coloured titanium can be used.

We are qualified professionals offering a service with full knowledge of the essential requirements for prevention of cross contamination. No expense is spared or corners cut when ensuring all jewellery, instruments, surfaces and disposable items are prepared and sterilised for this minor surgical procedure. Therefore forgive us if we may appear to be a little more expensive than others. Sometimes you may have to pay a little bit extra for a whole lot more. Especially within this, as yet, unregulated industry.

Many of our customers travel long distances to be assured of our expert procedures. We continue to impress all types of people including an increasing number with specialist medical and surgical knowledge.

The Real studio is of course local health authority approved.

Piercing Appointments

If you wish to make a booking, please call in advance.

We have people coming from around the world to have their body piercings here with us. If you want to come along for yours, give us a call on 01444 871369.

We are appointment only during the week. We start piercing at 10.30 am, and stop at 5pm, so please make sure to book your appointment before you come in. On a Saturday we have drop in sessions - Just come along any time between 10.30am and 4.30pm. There might be a short wait if we are busy, but we won't keep you waiting too long. 

Age Restrictions:

Ears with the Studex75 system using only solid gold or titanium - 5 years plus - Under 16 years must have a parent or guardian with them.

Top of Ear: 13 years plus - Under 16 years must have a parent or guardian with them.
Navel Piercing: 13 years plus - Under 16 years must have a parent or guardian with them.
Facial, Nipple and other piercing - 16 years and over only (Identification may be required)
Oral piercing of any type: 16/17 with parent or 18 years or over (Identification may be required)

Finding a Reputable Piercer and Clean Studio

Of course we will always welcome you to us, but if you live a distance it could be expensive and time consuming. Here are a few tips when looking for the right place:

• Your piercer should be clean and wearing a white coat with hair tied back if long.
• Check out the studio, anyone reputable will be happy to show you around. It must be clean with wipe able surfaces and washable floors and walls.
• Disposable couch covers and needles must be used and disposed of appropriately every time.
• All clamps and other instruments must have been autoclaved and the studio should be self-contained with privacy.
• Your piercer should wash their hands and use rubber gloves changing them several times throughout the process.
• They should be understanding of your nervousness, informative and knowledgeable about piercing.
• Written aftercare instructions should be given and the appropriate aftercare cleaning solution recommended or preferably supplied.
