Buying As A Gift
When buying body jewellery as a gift
it is easy to be put off by the confusing shaft sizes and
different gauges.
At BMG we can make this easy for you.
Tamper Bag
Firstly, please remember that all our jewellery is sent
out in sealed, tamper-proof view bags so the recipient can
have a good look before opening the bag. It can be sent
back with the bag intact for a refund or replacement. Please
note that the bag is for your own peace of mind, each piece
is sterilised before packing and has never been worn by
anyone else.

Belly Bars
When buying as a gift, order a shaft size of 12mm (USA almost
½”). This is a standard worldwide longest length
generally used for an initial curved bar piercing. This
will enable the recipient to wear it on the day of giving
and decide if it requires shortening. This is an easy process,
just pop the bar back in the post. State the new size and
it will be back with them just a couple of days later. If
this is done within a 14 days of purchase we will charge
just £5 to cover post, packaging and re-sterilisation. If
it requires shortening at a later date this is £25 for the
same service. However we do not recommend holding back Christmas
orders for this reason in case you are disappointed, i.e.
in case we sell out of your preferred item.
If in the rare instance you have ordered a 12mm as a gift
and find it is still too short – contact us as we can re-make
the shaft.

Rings
With a ring for a navel you will generally find both 10mm
and 12mm fit quite well. It is down to personal choice really,
i.e. if you like larger or smaller. Surprisingly, most ladies
prefer the smaller one.
Nipple rings can vary immensely; we would recommend claiming
the vernier measuring tool to be quite sure before placing
the order.
Eyebrow and nose rings are generally 1.2id. Order 8mm for
an eyebrow, 8 or 10mm for a nose.

Nose Studs
Nose studs can vary in shaft size from 0.5mm upwards – generally
the cheap bulk manufactured nose studs are in our expert
opinion, too thin for a piercing to remain healthy. If a
nose has been pierced properly with a needle it will be
1mm or 1.2mm shaft size. Most of our nose studs come in
1mm as standard or 1.2mm by special request. In the event
that you order a nose stud and find it is too large to fit
into a smaller piercing contact us for an insertion pin,
this will slowly stretch the piercing back to a healthy
size.
