Nose Studs Nose Piercing – getting it right.

Nose piercing has been around for a very long time and some research suggest 4000 years. In modern society nose piercing is now main stream. Having had a cultural heritage in India and with the integration of society today it is perhaps become the most noticeable piercing. It is not surprising how popular it has become, and not just with piercing and body art fans but also as a single piercing for business people, students and even in the fashion industry.

Here at BMG we have been making fine quality diamond and gemstone nose jewellery since our humble beginnings in 1998. At this time BMG nose studs where made in Sri Lanka in a small workshop close to Colombo. In 2005 production was moved to our current workshop here in the UK.

Making the perfect nose stud: This has different sides to it as a jewellery manufacturer may have no real understanding of the piercing for example how it fits in to the nose piercing, how it stays in place and most important how it looks and feels when being worn.

A professional piercer may understand how all noses are different, how the long tails hang out of the nose on some noses and not others, and how noses vary so much in wall thickness. So this where we at BMG differ as we are not only professional body piercers. We are also professional jewellers, goldsmiths, diamond setters and jewellery designers. Over the years we have strived to get this right for our customers and this is why BMG offer the huge selection of shaft lengths, tail shapes gauges and size of gemstones. Above all our diamond gemstones and Cubic Zirconia’s are flush set on a cone setting. They sit into the piercing not on it meaning they are flat to the nose. A BMG nose stud is not claw setting where the dirt can build up under the claws, neither is it a bezel setting meaning it will be raised up sitting on top of the piercing. A BMG nose stud is a hand crafted work of art that works with the contours of your nose and the contours of your piercing.

It is very easy if you came into our shop, where we can measure you up, work out the best tail shape so that it is secure but the tail does not hang out or irritate the piercing. If you are ordering on-line from your experience of wearing nose jewellery together with the information shown; work out the best style and fit for you. When you place the order the nose stud is then made just for you, literally we fill in a job bag with your specific requirements on it and then make the piece for you personally.  This information is then kept on file and on your purchase history. If you don’t get it right first time don’t worry simply send it back for an alteration and this can be determined by working out where the problem is yourself ie you need the shaft shortened by 1mm or the tail shape changed from a full U to an L shape etc or if you don’t really know you can email us or just call.
