What's what...

What's what...
Here is a diagram showing the diamond/gem, shaft and tail.

The SHAFT is the part of the nose stud that goes through the side of the nose, and sits in the piercing hole. Shaft lengths differ from person to person, but we have split them in to 3 main categories:

Thin Nose: 5.5mm

Normal: 7mm

Thick Nose: 8.5mm.

We can make different sizes if required, just ask before ordering.

The TAIL is the part of the nose stud that sits inside the nose, and holds it in place. (See 'Tail Shapes Guide' for more information)

When ordering a nose stud - you will also be asked to choose a SHAFT GAUGE. This is the thickness of the shaft. You can choose from:

1mm (18 Gauge) - which is the standard needle pierce gauge.

0.8mm (20 Gauge) - which is the normal gauge for a nose stud.

0.6 mm - (23 gauge) - which is the thinnest gauge we offer.

Tail Shapes Guide

Tail Shapes Guide
Here are some diagrams showing the different tail shapes that we offer here at BMG Ltd.

We offer:

'Pin' style tail: This is the easiest of the tail shapes to get in and out. We also offer the small nose stud secure rings with the 'Pin' tail - these slip over the end to give a more secure hold. The 'Pin' is universal and can go in either side of the nose.

'L' style tail: This is more secure than the pin, yet still relatively easy to get in and out. The 'L' tail can also go in either side of the nose.

'Half U' tail: This is half way between the 'L' and the 'U'. With this shape tail you have to order either Left Nostril or Right Nostril.

'U' tail: This is the most secure of all of the nose studs, as it has the most metal inside of the nose - therefore holding it most securely. With this shaped tail, you also have to order either Left Nostril or Right Nostril.

Left or Right?

Left or Right?
When ordering a 'U' or 'Half U' you need to be specific with which side of the nose the piercing is on. So if you have your left nostril pierced - you need a left. If you have your right nostril pierced - you need a right.

Here is a diagram showing our Left Nostril and Right Nostril Studs.
